Amiri Ndayisaba (AOSS Prep) – Official Scouting Report

Welcome to the Advanced Scouting Report.  Brought to you by Advanced Scouting Service and Advanced Scouting Media

The week of March 14th we took a look at Academy of Sports Science’s Amiri Ndayisaba, Junior guard, at the Victorium Gym in Scottsdale, AZ.  Amiri, a Junior and expected to graduate in Spring of 2022, is a guard and team captain at the Academy of Sports Science. He is 5’8’ and 160 pounds.  Amir is from the hometown of Burundi.

Listed as a mid level Division 1 point guard, Amiri Ndayisaba has a lot of skills, qualities, and attributes worthy of attention by college coaches. We see him as a savvy court general, who can settle the offense, make good decisions, can make open shots and create unexpected offensive opportunities. Let’s get into what make him a promising prospect.

His greatest attribute is his Defenses.   He plays in your face defense and never takes his foot off the gas petal when it comes to pressure.   The continuous pressure even among elite point guard is frustrating to endure as the game unfolds. Amiri is an amazing guard to consider for your arsenal of lock down defenders. Every team needs a defensive spark at key moments of the game.  Amari is guaranteed to force 2 or 3 turnovers and will initiate 1-2 steams during each game.  He is a pest with alfa physicality, when he defends you can almost hear a growl of a panther.  He has proven to be a beast in his true form as his defense wears down and exhausts the ball handler.  His relentless nature frustrates the opposing court general to the point of anger every possession.

And his Shooting? He takes great shots, does not force attempts, and has a high conversion rate when he shoots the ball because is mainly only takes open shots.

Advanced scouting found that he is excellent at cutting off the ball and believe it or not the majority of his points comes in the point from steal conversions, cutting of the ball and putting up layups around the rim.  We attribute his ability to get paint points from his excellent footwork under and around the rim.

Over the the last few months we’ve have seen his defensive intensity increase dramatically during the times we’ve scouted him play.

He may not guarantee you points every game but he has a high shooting percentage rating and is not afraid to pull the trigger when he needs to.

Every team needs a pulse and that is exactly what he is.  It is the lifeblood that pumps through us. His legs say it all.  He is a warrior by the exact definition.  After interviewing his coaching staff we gathered learn that Amiri has superior work ethic and this is evident based on his progress after just a few short months after joining AOSS Prep’s elite level environment.

Currently, Amiri’s skills are centered around half court offensive structure and facility. He does not force the issue and he executive stable controlled offense.  He also cuts off the ball and often scores under the basket off back door passes.  Amiri is working on being a threat on transition and attacking while in transition.
